A lot of people are worried about getting fined for failing to submit their annual fire safety statement on time, and rightly so. According to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 it is an offence subject to a court-imposed penalty of up to $110,000 as well as on the spot fines.
Fines start at $1000 for the first week, increasing to $4000 by the fourth week (and every subsequent week that its overdue).
